    Pros +

    • Fantastic staff and wonderful Breakfast
    • Beautiful property and Great Location (Jing'An). Also very accommodating staff. Recommend anyone staying in Shanghai to stay at the St Regis.
    • Everything was amazing! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room had a magnificent view over Shanghai. Location is excellent. Very comfortable stay.

    Cons -

    • The only issue was the tv reception did not work correctly despite several attempts from the service team to fix it. Very small issue though.
    • No complaints
    • A hotel that is part of such a prestigious group should pay much more attention to detail. Many things simply did not meet the standards of a five-star hotel, especially at this price point:- Lobby: The hall was drafty and cold.- Check-in: You sit so low that it feels like sinking into a hole, and you have to look up awkwardly to see the staff.- Lift: Poorly programmed, with long waiting times. The diamond-shaped buttons glitter so much you can’t read the numbers—they look more suited to a Christmas tree than a lift.- Suite: The furniture was dated, and cabinet doors did not close properly. The room clearly needs some care.- Coffee maker: Built-in and unnecessarily complicated—felt like you needed a degree to operate it.- Phone: Numbers were so tiny they were unreadable. When I finally managed to dial reception or in-room dining, no one answered.I travel frequently and stay in five-star hotels around the world, so I have a good sense of what works and what doesn’t. Unfortunately, the St. Regis Shanghai fell short.

Location is good, close to Nanjing Rd and Kerry Centre and don't get me wrong when you read my don't likes written below the hotel certainly had class 10 years ago but for a 5-star there are a many things you would not expect.

    Overall nice and clean

Staff quality, room maintenance (looked dated, some things don’t work, drawers don’t close completely ??‍♀️), evening service was not consistent (some days are good other days I got none)

The building and suite were overall impressive, but unfortunately, the service was severely lacking throughout our stay.

On the first evening, we discovered that the motorized curtain system was broken and we were unable to open the curtains. I tried calling the front desk several times without success. This is unacceptable, especially for a hotel that advertises a concierge service. There was no compensation offered. Instead, we were asked in the middle of the night if we wanted to change rooms – which was not an option. Even the following day, after multiple reminders, the issue remained unresolved. To make matters worse, more than two weeks have passed since our stay, and the security deposit is still blocked on my credit card. I also have yet to receive the invoice, despite explicitly requesting it.

Our stay at The St. Regis Shanghai was absolutely perfect. Special thanks to Butler Yan, who provided outstanding service — attentive, thoughtful, and made us feel truly at home. The hotel is beautiful, luxurious, and every detail exceeded our expectations. We would love to return!

During my stay, I accidentally left my bag—containing my passport—in a Didi. As I do not have a Chinese phone number, I was unable to contact the driver myself. An employee named Peter used his own phone to reach the driver and successfully helped me recover my bag. I am incredibly grateful for his help since I I would have struggled to resolve this issue on my own, and losing my passport would have been disastrous. I appreciated the warm service!

Staffs are keen to assist guests. They are more professional than couple years ago. More selections for breakfast. Great location and view

Deco is getting old, bathroom needs update. Doors to bathroom can’t be closed properly. Curtains broken

Perfect location. Great view from upper floors.

We didn’t like the breakfast. The facility is dark and cold. Coffee station is not comfortable at all and only nespresso coffee which i personally hate.

Everything was perfect! Swimming pool , fitness center, bathroom, large room, cleanliness...

The butler service was alright, but willing to help you out for any request.

There aren't many selection for breakfast. The staff who helped me checked in wasn't nice...and one night, I was asking the doorman for direction, he wasn't that helpful...

Location: close to Shanghai natural history museum; close to train station. Bed was comfy, had a good night sleep.

Swimming pool at B1, on the way to the pool, air ventilation was not good. Also no direct entry to the pool, but need to enter from changing/shower room, which was unnecessary.

    10MariePosted on: 7-17-2024

Very warm welcome by Miguel who took care of everything, earlier and quick check in which was appreciated after a long flight. The room is very comfortable & cosy with the typical St Regis high service quality. Loved the patisserie in the lobby they had such delicious canelle, amazing breakfast.

The pool and gym didn't look very high end and not very inviting unfortunately. The cleaning service could be a bit more careful with details (arranging charging cable, organizing items) and not just clean the room. There is a renovation in progress but as long one doesn't sit all day in the lobby, it won't affect anyone that much. Location is okey

I recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel during my trip to Shanghai, and I wanted to share my experience. Overall, I found the St. Regis Jingan to be one of the most comfortable and welcoming hotels I have ever visited. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the elegance of the property and the attentiveness of the staff. The level of service provided was truly superb. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable and stress-free. Whether it was the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, or dining staff, everyone was exceptionally friendly and professional. Their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident in every interaction. The room itself was beautifully appointed and provided a luxurious retreat after long days exploring the city. The amenities were top-notch, and I appreciated the attention to detail in everything from the room decor to the in-room services. However, I must mention that the ongoing renovations during my stay did have an impact on the overall experience. While I understand the necessity of these improvements, the construction noise and temporary adjustments did slightly detract from the otherwise outstanding environment.Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the St. Regis Jingan and would highly recommend it to others. I look forward to returning in the future and experiencing the hotel once the renovations are complete.

    the ongoing renovation
